The Next Sphere

Several years ago, after spending 3 years on an incredible crossover rock and roll project, the Lord made it clear to me that I was heading in the wrong direction. He said,

"If I be lifted up, I'll draw all men to Myself!" Even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. John 3:14

When I trashed that project, God opened a window in heaven and began pouring new music through it. The most unusual thing about this new music was I didn't write it. I only penned it as it flowed down, complete with music and words from The Next Sphere that place where One touch from heaven; heals, sets free, redeems, gives clarity and restores lives---it's all about Him, my Lord, Savior, God and King; Jesus. The one a man told me about in Indianapolis, Indiana in the fall of 1970.

As Bud Earl entered the living room full of 12 longhaired hippies (who'd been looking for love in all the wrong places), he exclaimed, "Well, Praise the Lord" as he hung up his hat and coat. He began through the word of knowledge (I Corinthians 12:4-11) telling us where we'd been and the things we'd done and followed with,

"You've been looking for the way; Jesus is the Way
You've been looking for the truth; Jesus is the Truth
You've been looking for life; Jesus is the Life
And no one comes to the Father, but through Him!" John 14:6. With that word, a cloud filled the room and we were all on the floor repenting for our sins and asking Jesus to come into our hearts and change our lives AND HE DID!

Several days later, we were all baptized in a horse trough. The next week in an old-time Pentecostal church meeting we were all filled with the Holy Ghost. After our conversion, we'd asked Bud, "what do we do now? We play rock and roll."

He said, "Well, play Jesus rock." And that's what we did. You probably know it as the Jesus Movement; and believe me, Jesus was moving all over this nation! The 'e' band would go wherever we were allowed to set up and play; in college quads, high schools, prisons, parks ANYWHERE and tell people about Jesus. It was so easy then. I remember walking up to people on the street and saying, "Jesus loves you." It's amazing how the Lord would manifest His presence with those words and they would immediately begin to weep under the conviction power of the Holy Spirit and ask Jesus into their hearts and the transformation would begin!

One thing I know after 31 years of going through this journey is "When I was faithless, He remained faithful because He could not deny Himself." 2 Timothy 2:13.
So, fellow traveler; keep walking and keep the faith...
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus!" Philippians 1:6 Won't you come and join us?
