It's about the journey...

to... THE NEXT SPHERE

The interesting thing about this journey is the way the Lord guides His children. "My sheep hear My voice," John 10:27

I'm sure there have been times in all our lives when we didn't hear the voice of the Lord clearly, but thank God for His grace. I specifically remember the winter of 1999, when I was in Clearwater, FL. The Lord began speaking to me concerning returning to Nashville. I wasn't particularly excited about the prospect so I asked the Lord for a confirmation. The next day, as we were entering a restaurant, I passed a man and a teen-aged girl who were leaving. The Holy Spirit spoke to me, "You know this man." Turning around, I called out, "Sir." The man stopped and turned toward me. I continued, "Are you from Nashville?" He replied, "Yes, I am." The next words out of his mouth were "Greg X. Volz!" With that, I recognized Wes Yoder, who had been the European road manager for my tours with Petra. It was then I realized that God had sent him to Clearwater at exactly the right time to be my confirmation; although he thought that he was there just to buy a car for his daughter. After a short visit, we were both on our way. The next evening at church, an older gentleman came up to me and said, "The Lord told me to tell you that you are to go to a specific church in Kentucky. Upon looking at the map, I realized that Nashville was directly on the way, so we made plans to go.

Upon arriving in Nashville, the Lord directed us to a local church. As we entered, I met the pastor and his wife who were leaving for lunch. After a short introduction, the pastor said, "So you're here to see John." I replied, "John, who?" "Your old keyboard player from Petra, John Lawry, he plays the B-3 for our services." I quickly began to realize that this was a setup and God was the one setting it up. The next night, I attended the mid-week service and began to rekindle the relationship with John. The Lord put it in our hearts to work together again, which led to our collaboration on The Next Sphere. The Lord works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.
